It's a little late to be listing seminars for this month, but I thought I would since I hadn't gotten around to it yet. I'll be speaking at the following events this month:
It's now official... I'll be teaching a Photoshop workshop on a cruise around the Galapagos Islands April 7-17, 2008! We'll be traveling via the 16 passenger sailing yacht shown above.
11-day trip includes 3 nights in Quito, Ecuador, and a 7-night live-aboard, cruise of the Galapagos islands aboard the Mary Anne. Most days during the cruise include two land excursions and one to two snorkeling excursions each day, as well as the Photoshop Workshop.
The trip is being organized by Wilderness Travel. Visit their site if you're interesting in joining us... the workshop is already over 1/3 full, so don't wait too long.
I'm flying to Aspen, Colorado today and will teaching "The Creative Side of Photoshop" all next week at Anderson Ranch.
I finished recording two on-line classes today. One will be for beginners and the other describes the exact techniques I've been using to create the illustrative grungy look that I've been developing during my exploration of Route 66. The classes should be available by the time PhotoshopWorld runs around.
The photograph above is another one from Salvation Mountain in California. I thought such an unusual place deserved an unusual Camera Raw interpretation. A "normal" version is shown below. You can click on either image to see a larger version.

The updated seminar still concentrates on adjusting images with curves, but also includes information about masking complex images and finishes with having me work five complex images from start to finish, including the a few of the images I've posted on this blog lately, along with the image shown above. The new workbook also contains a completely reworked description of curves that matches my latest presentations that makes curves much easier to understand (it's as easy as using a dimmer switch).
I just received my first copy of my new book Photoshop CS3: Up to Speed! Amazon is listing it has shipping in 2-4 weeks, but Barnes & Noble made a special purchase and is shipping them right away.
I received an e-mail from someone who has already had a chance to read the book before I received a copy... I guess my publisher sent a box of books to my old house that I sold over a year ago!
The book covers all the new features found in the standard version of Photoshop CS3 and the one new feature in the extended version that I wish they would have included in the standard version.
I'm heading to Columbus, Oh to present my one-day Photoshop for Photographers seminar.
On a side note: Many people have expressed concern about my mobile lifestyle, worrying that I might be lonely and might not bump into people all that often. I don't know why anyone would think that... here's an example from within a seven day span to give you an idea of what I mean:
That's not an uncommon week. I meet and visit more people per week than I have at any other time in my life. When I lived up in the mountains of Colorado, I might see Lance (the FedEx guy) a few times a week, but otherwise would have to go out of my way to see a human.

FYI: The bus will remain in Florida during the first two events and then I might start heading up the East coast to explore many areas that are new to me.
