This morning I met up with Trey Ratcliff from stuckincustoms.com. He travels the globe as part of his work for a computer gaming company. He mainly shoots HDR and posts an image almost every day on his blog. We had a great time chatting about international travel, HDR and photography in general.
I also drove about 576 miles today and made it to the outskirts of El Paso. I plan to continue on tomorrow and want to end up in Phoenix, AZ by the end of they day.
Ben: It was nice to meet you, the seminar in Austin was terrific. Here is the video of Seth, Jeff, JP and the rest of us I mentioned...
From last February 2007.

the disclaimer is at the bottom below the movie.
I hope to finish this video before January 2009 as I continue to learn Final Cut Pro Studio. This edit is just under 59 minutes.... down from 11 hrs.
This was shot on a Canon GL-2, and I'll be taking my Canon XH-A1 HD cam on the next trip south in January 2009.
See you in Las Vegas for Photoshop World I hope.
Cheers, Rusty

Thanks for straightening me out on "Curves" on Wednesday, March 26th in Austin! You have saved me from being forever stuck on "Brightness/Contrast"!

Hey Ben,
Just wanted to let you know how much of an inspiration you and Trey have both been to me and my images. I am really enjoying this HDR stuff. I hope to meet Trey as well some day. You reviewed some of my work quickly at the Photo Fusion show a couple of months ago. I really did appreciate your time and comments. I know you were busy there, so I really do thank you. I am sorry I wont be able to attend photoshop world next week...maybe in Vegas. I have posted some of my images on a blu domain site recently. If you get a chance, let me know what you think :)
Thanks again,
Michael Steighner

Ben,
Just wanted to leave a comment to say thanks for an outstanding seminar in Austin last week. I've finally had a chance to put some of your techniques to the test and am delighted with the results. With the help of your curves and masking techniques, I've finally "finished" an image I've been working on on-and-off for 4 years (look for "Hamilton Pool (post-Willmore)" in the blog if interested).
Regards,
Dave Wilson
