I finished updating the workbook for my Photoshop for Photographers seminar yesterday. Version 4.0 of the seminar will make its debut in London next
month.
The updated seminar still concentrates on adjusting images with curves, but also includes information about masking complex images and finishes with having me work five complex images from start to finish, including the a few of the images I've posted on this blog lately, along with the image shown above. The new workbook also contains a completely reworked description of curves that matches my latest presentations that makes curves much easier to understand (it's as easy as using a dimmer switch).
Oh great you added your dimmer switch description for using curves. For those of us who forget stuff, that will be most helpful I'm sure.

Hi Ben, I was at your Sacramento seminar last year and I am still referring to my workbook! Is it possible to purchase the newest
Version 4.0? Thanks, BP

NAPP has not offered updated handbook in the past... it would be up to them since they print them and I only see them at the event.

Yes, I know someone who forgot their handbook at a seminar and tried to get another copy. But her email query was never answered.

Any chance you walk through the steps necessary to get the results you did out of the above example, or are they detailed in any of your books? That is incredible.

Ben,
How about posting a PDF of just the curves instructions on this site without any other part of the workbook.

Steve... the updated seminar is where you learn how to fix this kind of photo... it's beyond what I can cover in a simple blog post.
Dave... I don't have permission from the people I wrote the handbook for to post any of its contents. Sorry.
I might look into offering an updated handbook on my site... but I'd have to do something to ensure you've already been to the event and I don't know that I have the details necessary for that right now.
